Through this special event, Joshua and his family will share information about his health journey, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s role in providing Joshua with necessary health care services, and why the public and our elected officials must invest in the future of kids like Joshua.

At only 2 days old, Joshua was diagnosed with malrotation, an abnormality causing the intestine to develop incorrectly.

Through this special event, Nevaeh and her family will share information about her health journey, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center’s role in providing Nevaeh with necessary health care services, and why the public and our elected officials must invest in the future of kids like Nevaeh.

Prior to birth, an ultrasound determined Nevaeh had a gene abnormality and required immediate special care at birth.

Meet Zachary S: 2020 Family Advocacy Week Champion

Zachary is participating in Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Week from August 10-14, 2020. Through this special event, Zachary and his family will share information about his health journey, CHOC Children’s role in providing Zachary with necessary healthcare services, and why the public and our elected officials must invest in the future of kids like Zachary.

Zachary was diagnosed with spina bifida in utero at 16 weeks at Rady Children’s Hospital. His has been a complicated, complex spina bifida case.

At just seven years old, Zachary has had over 20 surgeries at multiple hospitals over the years and has seen over a dozen specialists including urology, neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, pediatric surgery, radiology and plastic surgery.

Ben wasn’t achieving his motor skill milestones by the age of 3, and he tired easily and couldn’t keep up with other kids his age.

Meet Dillon: 2020 Family Advocacy Week Champion

Dillon is participating in Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Week from August 10-14, 2020. Through this special event, Dillon and his family will share information about his health journey, Children’s Health’s role in providing Dillon with necessary health care services, and why the public and our elected officials must invest in the future of kids like Dillon.

On Sept. 3, 2017, Dillon was rushed to the Emergency Room at Children’s Health after a major car accident. A severed spinal cord, urological damage and facial fractures were just a few of the many injuries 11-year-old Dillon sustained.

He was left paralyzed from the waist down.

Meet Archer: 2020 Family Advocacy Week Champion

Archer.jpgArcher is participating in Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Week from August 10-14, 2020. Through this special event, Archer and his family will share information about his health journey, Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s role in providing Archer with necessary health care services, and why the public and our elected officials must invest in the future of kids like Archer.

Following the critical diagnosis of his younger brother in the fall of 2019, Archer’s ADHD, anxiety, sleep disorder and depression worsened.

However, through therapy sessions at the Mood and Anxiety Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, Archer is doing much better. The program is dedicated to serving the needs of adolescents like Archer with a primary diagnosis of a mood or anxiety disorder.
