Meet Zoey: 2017 Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day Hero
Zoey Nidhi was born in Mumbai, India, with achondroplasia — a form of skeletal dysplasia. Zoey receives much of her care at two hospitals; locally, she goes to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, and for care related to achondroplasia, Zoey travels with her family to A.I. Dupont / Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware.
In her free time, 5-year-old Zoey likes to swim, host tea parties and play with her friends. If there is one word that describes Zoey best, it’s “tenacious”. Zoey is unique because she possesses great determination at an early age. She never lets her stature keep her from new experiences and trying her hardest.
When Zoey grows up, she hopes to work with animals, and perhaps become a veterinarian. Zoey’s favorite health care provider is her pediatrician, Dr. Ho, as he’s the only doctor Zoey ‘likes’ to visit. He’s never scary, rarely gives shots and always ends visits with a lollipop.
Help us welcome Zoey to Washington, D.C.!
