Keeping Kids Healthy

While leaders in pediatric health already prioritize treating children with the highest standard of care, increasingly many are focused on another way to bolster outcomes: Keep kids from getting sick in the first place.

That's led many, including experts at children's hospitals, to work with government, schools, nonprofits, businesses and other organizations to raise awareness and reduce rates of common health issues affecting children, from asthma to obesity.

Dr. David Bailey, president and CEO at Nemours Children's Health System, advocates taking a broad view of population health that extends beyond reducing chronic disease rates to look at social determinants of health, and improve overall wellness of a community.
