Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week -- An Update From Max Page

Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Day Hero, Max Page, provides an update on his heart condition in recognition of Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week.

Page.Max.jpgBest known as “Mini Darth Vader” from the 2011 Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial, Max Page is a spirited 11 year-old boy who loves to act, golf, play baseball, and pal around with his brother Ellison. Though born with a heart defect—Tetralogy of Fallot—and equipped with a pacemaker, Max has never let any challenge slow him down. Thanks to the great team and care provided at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Max is able to lead a full and vibrant life.

During the summer of 2015, Max had two heart surgeries: one to replace his pulmonary valve and another to replace his pacemaker. While congenital heart disease is unpredictable and it sidelined Max for six months, he is now back in action. Max is playing competitive baseball again and continues to act. The sky the limit for this kid!

Last year, Max interviewed his mother, Jennifer, about her experience raising a child with CHD. Click below to take a look.
