2015 Family Advocacy Day Hero -- Trevor
Trevor has endured over 20 surgeries as a result of his spina bifida, including one on the day of his birth. Now, at age 14, there’s hope that he’s finished with surgeries.
Trevor has used his wheelchair since he turned 3 and has amazing upper body strength. He has an inner peace about his disability which helps him take all of his difficulties in stride. Trevor, who plays baseball in the spring and fall with the local Miracle League, is an inspiration to many people in his community, including the children’s hospital staff. Those who have taken a special interest in him are known as “Team Trevor.”
In addition to baseball, Trevor enjoys video games, his iPhone, reading, and playing with his dog, Howie. Trevor serves on the Teen Advisory Council at Levine Children's Hospital, along with his sister. Levine Children’s Hospital is one of his favorite places, along with Victory Junction Gang Camp and Ronald McDonald House.
