Join Us to Learn More about CHIP
The Children’s Hospital Association will be participating in a “#WellnessWed” Twitter Chat under @speaknowforkids on Wednesday, July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. EDT
Sponsored by MomsRising, next week’s Twitter Chat is focused on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Topics expected to be covered include:
- How to determine your child’s eligibility for the program;
- How and where to enroll; and
- How to advocate for this important child health coverage program.
CHIP currently provides health coverage to nearly 8 million children in families with incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid, yet can’t afford private coverage. Unless Congress passes legislation to extend CHIP funding, it will lose federal support on October 1, 2015 and millions of kids may lose their health coverage.
Jennifer Rudisill, assistant director of federal affairs at the Children’s Hospital Association, and a representative from the Georgetown Center on Children & Families will participate in the July 23rd #WellnessWed Twitter Chat.
More details regarding the Twitter Chat will be posted on the Speak Now for Kids site during the week of July 21.
